ARANOVI operates as a curatorial studio using jewellery as its medium.
We work with objects that have been encountered rather than designed. They may be functional or redundant, recent or displaced. At the point of encounter, they carry no authorship. They are observed. Most do not proceed further.
Discovery
Objects are selected through observation rather than chronology.
We are drawn to objects that no longer sit comfortably within their original context. In that misalignment, an object becomes readable again — not as a solution, but as a record.
Intervention
Intervention is applied only after selection.
It is not corrective. It is clarifying.
Stabilisation or restraint is introduced where necessary. Evidence of use is retained. Precision is applied only where contrast is required.
In certain cases, intervention is refused.
The Record
Accepted objects are assigned a permanent Item №.
The Item № marks entry into the record. From that point onward, the object remains visible regardless of availability or state. Material and form may change. The record persists.
No Item № is withdrawn.
Circulation
Some Originals are released. Others are retained.
When circulation would distort what an object records, the Original remains intact. Interpretation occurs elsewhere.
Retention is not a mark of value. It is a measure of responsibility.
Custodianship
ARANOVI operates as a long-term archive.
Objects are prioritised over authorship. Decisions are recorded rather than announced.
We do not manufacture moments. Circulation is observed rather than orchestrated.
Objects outlast people. They require little explanation.
